All About Coupons
Welcome to the world of couponing, saving money, and making the most with what you have! There are alot of common questions I get when someone new wants to start couponing.
Is it alot of work?
As my regular readers and coupon clippers know, couponing takes time. You have to plan grocery lists ahead of time, sort out what coupons you will use, clip new coupons, and even shopping with coupons takes a little more time than normal shopping.
Is it worth it?
Oh yes! A fun way to figure out how much you are making by clipping coupons is to keep track of how much time you spend clipping and organizing and then keep track of how much you use in coupons in a month. Don’t be surprised if you are “making” $20 an hour or more by clipping coupons!
Do stores lose money by accepting coupons?
Nope! If you look at the fine print on all coupons it says that the store will be reimbursed for the face value of the coupon plus a handling fee. The manufacturer pays for you to use the coupon because they want to to try and keep buying their product. Alot of the time when a coupon comes out it’s for a new item. This is just a way for the manufacturer to get you to use their product.
What about the headache of trying to find just whats on your coupon at the store and then standing there at the checkout while people give you dirty looks?
The key to smart couponing is to be organized. Before I go shopping I make my list of what is on sale and what I am going to get. I put all the coupons that I want to use in an envelope so it’s easy for me to find the one I want right away. I still carry along my coupon binder in case I find an unadvertised deal or a clearance deal. And as for those people at the checkout? Well, maybe they won’t have such a dirty look on their face when they see how much you are saving!
Where am I supposed to find all these coupons?
Coupons are literally everywhere. You can find them in newspapers, in magazines, on products, on the shelf, at the checkout, in your mail box, online, everywhere! That’s where I can help you out. Make sure you check with the Coupon Database to find any coupon you are looking for. Once you get the hang of looking for coupons you will have so many you won’t know what to do with them! Plus if you ever are looking for a specific coupon or are having trouble you can email me anytime!
Ok, so I’m convinced, I want to start clipping….
Awesome! You are about ready to change the way you shop! It’s an amazing journey but so very worth it. After I started shopping sales and with coupons I couldn’t imagine shopping any other way. Thinking about paying full price for something makes my cringe! Keep checking this blog for deal matchups and ideas. And email me if you ever have any questions or even if you just want to share an awesome deal you got!
